Any home printers that DON'T use auto shut off or auto sleep?

I recently bought 2 epson 6000 and 6100... both drive us crazy as they go into sleep or shutoff mode and we have to go down a flight of stairs just to see if they are on or off and after many many years of swearing by Epson, i find now I'm always swearing AT epson.

Is there any way to turn this off (all i can find is a setting that sets it to 12 hours at most)?

Is there any multi purpose printer that doesn't use this stupid feature or that has a way to disable it?
