I’ve had the B230 printer 3 years. Connectivity has always been an intermittent issue. 95% of the time it works perfectly, but at a random time it won't print. The PC / Win10 sees the printer (online and idle) but nothing comes out of the printer and Win10 just says 'An error has occurred'. Win10 printer diagnostics says it can't identify the fault. There are no error lights / codes. Switching things on and off does not resolve the issue. But - maybe - the following day it will print perfectly. It will always print perfectly when the Printer Quality Test is accessed from the printer’s panel.
The printer is connected to my PC via a cable. I've changed the cable and tried different USB sockets and used contact cleaner on all connections. I've downloaded the print drivers from the Xerox site three times.
I’ve dug out a very old HP1020. Connected it to the PC via the same cable / USB socket. Months later, it hasn’t missed a single page.
Any ideas?
