I am trying to set up my daughter's HP Stream laptop that is bluetooth activated to print from her Canon MX922. I purchased 2 generic USB dongles that have 4.9/5 rating from well over 200 customers. I plugged a dongle into the prescribed USB port on the front of the printer and did not "blow up" the printer. The dongle lit up with constant light display. However, when I tried to get laptop to recognize the printer through the dongle, the search failed. I do not want to purchase another bluetooth dongle to experiment. Were the Canon bluetooth device not so ridiculously over-priced, I would have purchased it instead. I have not found any listed incompatibility issues with generics, but I have no answer. Am I missing something other than forking over $50.00?
