Brother DCP-L2530DW setup errors after Win 11 24H2 complete reinstallation

I had a problem with my PC that meant having to do a complete reinstallation of Windows 11 and, therefore, all my apps and programs had to be reinstalled, too. My DCP-L2530DW worked fine before on Wifi, both printing and scanning. After three days I am now ready to throw it off a cliff. I have installed via the original CD many times, downloaded the updated software (updated Dec 24 to support Win11) from the Brother site, several times, too. I can either get the printer working correctly or the scanner, but not both. I have tried Wifi setup - but it fails to find the printer over the network so asks to be connected via USB. Then, when I am instructed to disconnect the USB cable and do so, 'Next' is still greyed out. If I try the setup via USB, and then scan a document from the printer/scanner's control panel, it works, scans and then a popup tells me "Failed to connect to the device... [TW5-101-0x0]." The message comes from TW-Brother-DCP-L2530DW LAN.

In Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners > Brother DCP-L2530DW series > Scanner Settings > Scanner properties it shows three scanners! "Brother DCP-L2530DW", "Brother DCP-L2530DW LAN" and "Brother DCP-L2530DW LAN #2" . There is no way to delete the additional 'devices'.

Sometimes, when I attempt to print - particularly PDFs from browsers - it tells me that the printer is offline, which it isn't, then prints the document about three minutes later.

Update: I have discovered that the supposedly latest (Dec 24), Windows 11-compatible, full installation software, as well as the printer and scanner drivers-only software option, do not actually include the full scanner software/drivers.

When scanning an image from the machine, it should give me the choice of "Press Start or Options" for more options; it only gives the "Start scan" option. After uninstalling again and then reinstalling from the original CD again as a USB printer/scanner, it prints and scans to PC correctly with all the additional options (colour/b&w/grey; resolution; background colour removal, etc), but on scanning there is still a desktop popup with the error message as shown in my original post, as well as the 3 scanners showing in Windows settings. I think I'm just going to have to live with that irritation.
