I am attempting to use an after-market cartridge for my Brother HL-2170W laser printer. The machine refuses to reset the page count to zero so the new cartridge causes the machine to show it as out of ink. Brother refuses to help unless it is one of their cartridges.
I have reset the gear on the side of the T360 cartridge and have taped both sides of the toner cartridge in an attempt to get it to recognize this cartridge.
I know that there is a code that can be entered via the buttons on the machine to reset the page count and to get the toner light to go off. I just can't find out what it is. Can anyone please help?
Thanks very much!
