I have a Brother HL-1440 laser printer. I got a paper jam. I removed the paper tray and removed the jam. The jam stopped the paper in the first bend right after the paper tray. I reset using the control button. I am still getting blinking LEDs on READY and ALARM (the standard paper jam code). I have opened the rear cover - no paper there. I have removed the toner/drum and do not see any paper jammed along that path.
Following info I found here, I cycled the power, holding the control button until the drum LED lit. (the toner/drum unit is removed, as per instructions).
The first press of the control button turns off the drum LED (no LED is lit).
The second press of the control button leaves all the LEDs off, but while the control button is pressed the DRUM and DATA LEDs are lit.
Any help would be appreciated.
