Using Windows 7 and also a 8.1 laptop and wireless network (router is 10 feet away from printer) with Brother MFC 8810 DW, it prints temporarily intermittently, more often after restarting, and more often after changing from one of the 3 standard TCP/IP ports as indicated in the snip. Prior to a reinstallation of Windows 8.1 a month ago it worked normally using the BRW00809283A587 port, which had been installed using the USB cable. It has worked well temporarily using the other 2 TCP/IP ports as well.

Driver is up-to-date. Everyone has permission to do everything. I have reinstalled the printer multiple times using the DVD, as well as the package from the Brother website. Most of my multiple reinstallation’s used the USB connection to install, and some did not. Following this dialogue below does not help.

It has been “off-line” many times until I fool around with it, but I never knew exactly how it got off-line in the 1st place or how I fixed it. The failure to print is not always associated with the off-line notification. I don’t recall it ever working after checking the use off-line option. Usually I repaired it with reinstalls and or rebooting the computer and/or printer. Or at least one occasion I fixed it by unchecking the SNMP status enabled option. That remains unchecked.

On many occasions, it would begin to print spontaneously as long as 5 minutes after the document was sent to the printer.

Sometimes there is a message that it cannot print Microsoft Word.

I’ll greatly appreciate advice.
