Brother Mfc-9970cdw note cards

Hello All.... Trying to figure out procedure and settings for printing 3 x 5 note cards on my MFC-9970CDW. Using Ms Word Office 365. Set paper size to 3 x 5 and put cards in MP tray. Have to put cards in wit 3" side forward otherwise they won't feed. Printer tells me to put in correct paper size. Have verified dimensions still the same request. Can anyone offer suggestions?
