Brother MFC-L2700DW won't scan

This is my husband's printer. It faxes, copies and prints fine from his laptop running Windows 10, but it stopped scanning. Can anyone direct me to where the problem might be?

Forgot to add that he brought it home and I installed my Epson all-in-one printer and it scans fine for me.
