We have just received a Canon Color Imagerunner advance C5030 and I am trying to set it up. We have decided to implement printing with Department IDs so that we can track how much it gets used. To this end I have set up the printer in the print server a number of times, one for each department ID. I then set up the print driver on the client depending on which Department ID they should be printing to. Ideally I would like to keep the print tracking transparent with preferably no input from the end user. This all seems to work fairly well with only one hitch. Each end user seems to be able to go in to their print driver and change which Department ID it prints to. Due to the nature of our work environment each end user needs Administrator privileges on their computer so restricting their access this way is not really an option.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can prevent them making this modification?
