Canon IP6700D

After printing paper refuelling, I lost connection with my Canon IP6700D printer. My laptop does not recognise the USB001 virtual port any more. I run Windows XP SP3.
I tried with another PC and got the same message.
I tried to delete and re-create the port, but Windows did not agree to do that.
Any solution?

Try to Re-install the driver

I did. No change...

The problem is solved now. I simply unplugged the power cable, and then restarted my laptop. This must have cleaned some spurious caches...
