Canon MG3620 Paper problem????

I am unable to use my printer as every time I try to print it says there is no paper. It does have paper in it. I take it out and then put it back in then press the button it tells me to push and this message pops up again. This happens every time and I am about to pitch this into the garbage,
Why does this happen?
What can I do?
