Canon MP640 missing icon ?

I have had a Canon M640 printer for some time and very happy with it until tonight !

I went to scan one doc and the relavent icon has gone missing from the desk top

Am unsure how to fix this ? Am considering uninstalling ( this comes up as deleting ? ) and re installing

Have a Dell vostro 220 with XP pro

Advice please !

I do uninstalling-reinstalling whenever my device seems to work inappropriate (atleast for me.) It wouldn't be bad if you do that maybe. Also, you can check your icon setting. Mine is located at the lower right of my desktop. It's an arrow up icon. There's a word customize, click and manipulate it.
