Canon MX452 / HP Laptop ??

This has happened before sometime ago, drawing a Blank as to make both find each other.. Have Wireless Internet, wanted my Printer to copy an email off my laptop.. Only get as far as following the prompts to the last prompt to Print, click print and and contact is lost .. Printer doesn't acknowledge Request ?? Help , Thoughts & Opinions appreciated.. Cheers Thanks
