I went to canon's web site and it says the IP3500 is supported by windows 8. When I try to download the driver, it says
"There is no driver for the OS Version you selected. The driver may be included in your OS or you may not need a driver."
It is the same whether I pick 32 or 64 bit os.
Meanwhile windows 8 device manager has detected the usb printer and shows the printer with no driver; windows update did not find a driver for it either. If I try to add a printer, it searches for a few seconds and say it didn't find a printer. I tried to add the printer manually, but the built-in driver list does not have this printer.
According to a canon windows 8 compatibility web page, this printer is supported in windows 8. The question is HOW?
