Canon pixma mp495

HI just bought a CANON PIXMA MP495 when installing either with cable or wireless my XP dosen't recognise it....installed perfectly on my laptop but really need it on my main XP....tried changing cables,restarting computer and uninstalling and reinstalling....no luck...any ideas? thanks
