Hello,
I have error code 5100 showing on my Canon Pixma MP610 and a whirring noise after a print instruction. After drawing back the ink cartridge carriage, it looks as if the drive belt has lost tension, i.e. it rises off the horizontal for a part of its length.
So far, it's been a reliable printer and I have a number of spare ink cartridges. My question is, does anyone have either a simple solution or a likely ball park figure for repair? Basically, should I fix it or buy a new printer?
Many thanks.
