Canon Pixma Pro10s - slow to start printing

Just a general question about the Canon Pixma Pro series (I have the 10s). I've noticed that compared to other printers I've had, it takes aaaages to actually start printing once you've sent it a job, and seems to spend an inordinate amount of time "faffing about". I know runs the cleanse cycle quite a lot but there are time it can take about 5 minutes to just even start to print. Has anyone else noticed this about the Pixma series or is it just mine that's doing this???
