Canon TS5050 Ink Absorbers

I have cleaned the Ink Absorbers on my TS5050 but I am still getting the 1700 message to say that they are nearly full

I have tried two different reset sequences which I found online for other Canon printers, neither has worked.

How do I cancel my Canon TS5050 printer 'ink absorber nearly full' message?

I have followed this through with the authorised national maintenance firm for Canon printers. It seems that there are a number of Canon Printers for which there is no reset sequence. The TS5050 is one of these. This means that even if I were to send the printer to them for overhaul, it still would not be possible for it to be reset. This seems to build in redundancy as the printer was operating fine up an error 5B00 message appearing. I have had to buy a new printer.
