Canon TS8050 Rear Tray feed problem

I use 230 gsm card for printing greetings cards at home. After a couple of years operating perfectly it now only stream feeds intermittently and up comes the msg that there is no paper when there is still plenty. I can only fix this by "assisting" the paper to feed. Frustrating. Any ideas??
