Color LaserJet 2840, I picked it up second hand. It only printed blank pages. I found that the drum cartridge had failed (locked up the green roller so it wouldn't spin). I purchased a new drum unit, and the printer now prints, but the results look like the picture I've linked (original on right, copy on left). Usually horizontal lines mean bad drum, but the drum is a brand new HP Factory unit.

Any ideas?

measure the first occurrence to the second that will tell you the diameter of the roller/drum that is causing the issue, generally if it's only occurring on one color then its that drum see attached chart

So, I found the problem. It turns out the previous owner had installed a cyan cartridge in the Yellow location as well as the cyan location. Replacing the Yellow slot with a Yellow cartridge solved all problems.
