I have an Epson Colorworks C6510 printer that requires the motherboard battery to be replaced, as I need to reset the date & time every time I turn on the printer.
I have located the battery, which is the usual button battery, however the way it is inserted into the motherboard I have not seen before. It has tabs spot welded to the battery, which are then inseted through 2 holes in the motherboard. I have tried to pull the battery out of the motherboard, thinking that it is probably a push fit, however it will not budge. I don't want to force it & damage the motherboard. It is possible it is soldered from below, but I don't know why they would do this, & I haven't wanted to pull out the entire motherboard. Does anybody have experience with this type of battery install, & do you know how to safely remove it? Photos attached.
