Epson ecotank 8550 Printing color mismatch for illustrations

I just got the ET 8550, great printer but when I am printing line art the grey tone always prints 15% lighter than the completed art. I am wondering if I need to try another setting? I have had an ecotank before (not as good) but the color/contrast was more consistent.
So I have to finalize two versions; one for web viewing and a darker version for printing, which I'd really like to avoid.
Thanks for any suggestions.
