Epson L1800 head alignment issue

Hi,

I have an issue with the head alignment tool.

When you ask it to print out a test sheet, it prints three lines of samples, from which you are supposed to pick the one with the least banding for each.

Row #1 prints fine and clear, but rows #2 and #3 are completely unrecognisable. They are very faint and blurry, and it looks as if the ink is getting squirted up the page at an angle. I've attached a photo.

Any ideas on resolving this?
