Epson RX scanner lid

Hi pretty old rx 500 printer prints fine but cannot use due scanner lid u/s it will not activate the switch to prevent the lid not closed warning, I can sometimes get it with a weight on it but not always. The scanner not needed as it not working anyway. Is there a switch somewhere I could fix
