Epson RX640 reset - all green lights flashing

i have an epson rx640 printer that has all the green lights flashing and a message that it needs servicing at an epson agent and that I have to switch it off.. I think this is the ink pads are full . I have tried the ssc reset tool but it gets an error message "printer off or other error" Is there a way of pressing the buttons to reset the lights and run the resetter. ? I am not that worried about printing, although i would like to, but i want to use it as a scanner to scan photo slides
