Epson Stylus 9800 Pro: Wont load paper

Recently took the reigns at a print shop and I noticed this lightly-used, dusty, old printer in the corner. I got curious last week and tried to start it up and load paper. It seems its not sensing the paper that I'm feeding into it.

Sounds to me like a broken sensor. But I don't know. I'm more of an HP guy.

I'm in Western Connecticut/Tri State area.

Has anyone heard of this problem?

Is it as simple to resolve as it seems?

Are there repair techs in my area that you'd recommend?

Happy New Year people.

Are you getting an error indicator?

Which LEDs stay on when you try to print? If you have a paper set lever issue, usually the Power, Pause and Paper LEDs will be lit.

From the service manual:
PAPER OUT
LOAD PAPER

Description Remedy
The printer run out of paper.

The Paper Set Lever was set in the paper
setting position with no paper loaded.

A posterior end of the cut sheet or roll
paper is detected in the middle of printing,
and the printing is interrupted.
Release the Paper Set Lever to load paper,
and reset the lever to its front position.
