Epson Stylus Pro 3800 Prints only outline of text

My normally reliable Epson 3800 now is driving me nuts! I created a poster with seven photos and text below the photos. All photos printed fine, but the text was in outline - not normal "filled in" text. I changed fonts to Times Roman; same result. By mistake I sent the print job to my laser and the text printed perfectly. I then updated the Epson drivers to latest version; still prints only in outline on any font selected. Did head cleaning - no improvement.

Suggestions please! I don't want to buy another printer!
