Epson WF-3820 - Black Ink Shows Only Half Full After Replacement

First time replacing ink on an Epson WF-3820. I replaced the black ink first and went through all the steps as outlined on the screen. After the 4 min maintenance update, the blank ink showed full. All is good. I then went and replaced all of the color ink cartridges. After the 4 min maintenance update, the color ink cartridges showed full and the black ink cartridge showed half full. I went ahead the pulled the black ink cartridge out and put it back in again. Now, after the 4 min maintenance update, the color ink cartridges show almost full and the black ink cartridge shows about 1/3rd full. Any help would be appreciated. I'm not sure what step I should take next.
