Epson xp-7100 Color problem

Even though I have put in a new cartridge (twice), the printer doesn't print the color magenta. So the photos it is printing look all messed up. I have run all the things like de-clogging, initialising, etc. but no help. On screen, it indicates that my magenta cartridge is full and fine. It's as if the spot where the magenta cartridge goes is messed up. Suggestions?
