Help with black printer cartridge for HP inkjet

I have tried 2 cartridges. Prints as if ink is low. The color cartridges work fine. Any help please?

I always use new HP cartridges. I have run the clean cycle on the printer also. It just seems to be the black head that is affected.

In the printer its self. You will see a transparent strip running along the back of the printer and also a white strip that attaches to the printer cartridge carriage. Get a damp piece of tissue and clean those. Be very gentle with the transparent strip as if you pull hard on it, it will snap and the printer is completely broke. Over time ink residue will get on to them and effect the print quality. Try that and if that doesn't work let me know and I will think of something else to try.

Hi Rhys , just tried your suggestion on my HP photosmart 5510, no luck. Still won't print black. Any further wisdom? Thanks.

Hi Rhys. I have a similar problem, won't print black but all other colors fine on an HP photosmart 5510. Tried all HP suggestions also. Thanks.
