HL-L2340DW - 2 Easy Questions

A customer of mine owns this printer and she cannot figure out how to copy or scan with it. Is it unable to do either of these 2 basic printer functions?

It is just a printer. It is not an all-in-one unit. It cannot copy nor scan. HL designation on Brother machines means it is just a printer. DCP or MFC designations mean they can print, scan and copy. The MFC also has fax capabilities.
