HL2270DW not printing second page in duplex

I have a Brother HL2270DW that has worked great in single and duplex printing for a couple of years. Recently when printing duplex after printing the first page the printer kicks the page out before it can be drawn back in to print the second page on the back of that page. This causes the printer to fault out. Is there a way to fix this?
