Hello all! This is my inaugural post here (-:
I cannot seem to find any definitive answers online regarding how accurate DPI ratings for printers are.
If my printer is 600(x600) DPI on b&w, am I correct in assuming:
25.4mm per inch
25.4mm/600dpi=.042mm
I created an image of 8.5x11@600dpi and attempted to print some .042mm lines. Upon inspection under my microscope, it was just a mess of splotches roughly resembling the overall shape of the intricate pattern I drew.
I suppose my question is:
How small can I print reliably at 600 DPI? What is the mathematical expression to determine this?
Thanks all!
