How can I get my color printer to use only the black ink?

I never print in color yet I was told once that even when you print in black only that a slight amount of the other colors are also mixed in just so the mechanical bits don't dry out. True?

Have no idea what printer you are using. But if you have both Photo Black and Regular or Pigment Black,
then chances are that you can print in black only, without mixing colors.

yes it's true sometimes,

if a printer is used for a long time in black colour then rolling strip has it's effect , other colour may mix.

simple task, do cleaning every week , it will increase your printer's life.
