How to prevent Brother MFC-L6700DW OCR Scan from opening file on pc

I have over 30 documents/day to scan to OCR pdf, and all are scanned in one go. However as they're scanned, the computer attempts to open each file in Adobe. Is there a way to prevent the printer/program from opening all the files? This typically causes Adobe to not respond due to the many scanned files the computer attempts to open within the short scan period.
