How to print files from USB device

Hi,
we've got a printer MX-2301 N. We don't understand if from the external USB stick connected to the printer is possible to print a file stored in the USB device or if on the USB device is only possible to save documents scanned by the printer. Is it possible by the pannel of the printer selecting a file stored in the USB device to be printed?
