I found a couple of videos for a simple reset, basically when it get full you can try and do this

should work it's a simple Canon reset

. See how you go. It may work first time, once it's full, there is not alot you can do and may be worth looking into a new printer. Once the ink absorber is full second time, you will need a new printer and get a newer model. The MG series with 5 inks are pretty good. I have a new MG5750 which is good!
