HP 4500 Envy Instant Ink

Hello. I would like to discontinue my instant ink program on my HP4500 Envy printer but would like to use my remaining cartridges I have 2 of them. I am told they will not work beyond the end of the months billing period when i disconnect or suspend service. I read some mention about removing the battery but can't locate the battery. Is there any way to use these cartridges after suspending service ?
