HP 7210 OFFICEJET - Color cartridge inserted is not intended for this printer

I've got an HP 7210 OFFICEJET All-in-one that's giving me an error for color cartridge, "Color cartridge inserted is not intended for this printer". Its a hp95 short color cartridge, so I clean it re-install it and code flashes to "remove and check cartridge". I do believe this is the proper shorty that is designated for this machine...…...so I'm clueless at this point...….anybody out there with a hint as to what gives.? Thanks for any help offered
