hp cp3505n black only prints in bottom third of page

I replaced a broken right side lock lever and now when i print the black ink only prints at the very top of the page and on the bottom third. the middle section can have very faint black in it. I meticulously aligned the gears three times but problem is the same. Also, I am unable to do a cold restart or DVM reset. I follow the instructions but nothing happens when i press the green check mark or the down arrow on start up. here are three pics.
