HP M254DW transfer paper toner smudge

I have has my HP for a bit and never encountered any problems except the black toner seems not to stick to the paper. The other colours seem ok but if the colour printed is darkish it too smudges. I'm guessing the printer is adding black to the pigment and that is causing the smudges in those too. Any advice, could it be the black toner itself ?
