I want a printer for very occasional use

Hi
I am looking for a printer for my 75 year old mother who only need one occasionally. The problem that we have had so far is that the one she has was great when new but left for a couple month unused I guess the ink dries up and then it requires loads of TLC to make it print again. Are there any printers out there that can take so little use or that you can just leave on an they will head clean at intervals so that when you want to use it it works?
