Previously I've owned HP and Epson, never Brother. A year and a half after my last purchase of a brand new printer I wanted to update to Windows 7 but was extremely disappointed to find that HP didn't release updated full-featured drivers for it. A year and a half old and all I could install was the generic driver. 
I'm now considering the purchase of a Brother color laser printer that's just been introduced within the past couple of months. It's very likely that I'll be purchasing a new computer next year after Windows 9 is released. I'm wondering how good Brother is with providing full-featured (not just generic) drivers for new releases of Windows? I wouldn't necessarily expect a 5 year old printer to get new full-featured drivers, but hoping for better support than HP.
