Is it possible to get past minimum OS requirements for drivers?

I have OS X 10.6 which is not supported by my Brother HL-L2360DW. When I download the driver for 10.7 it doesn't work, as you might expect. I'm wondering if could find an older driver for a similar printer somewhere, and if that might work with my current printer.
