Kyocera m6635cidn. Failed firmware update.

I have a Kyocera M6635cidn.

Attempted a firmware upgrade - used the SoftwareUpgradeTool application and the firmware file: FirmwareUpgradePackage_ECOSYS M6630cidn M6635cidn_v04.03.0020.fwp
from Kyocera's website.

Ran the SoftwareUpgradeTool on my laptop on the same LAN as the printer.
The process seemed to work ok.
The SoftwareUpgradeTool accepted the fwp file and the IP address of the printer, provided a page that showed the current and new versions of the firmware components and away it went.
However, it looks like the update failed - ended with an error: Cannot verify the installed version.

Restarted the printer. Initially, it goes through what seems to be a normal start-up routine.
Displays welcome on the screen for a bit, then the Ecosys logo and then it doesn't go any further.
None of the buttons seem to do anything. Even the power button on the front doesn't seem to respond.
Can't ping it, Can't access its web admin page.
I unplugged the printer and left it off for a while. When I plugged it in again, it started up with the same outcome.

The printer looks to be bricked.

I also formatted a USB flash disk in FAT32 format and copied the v04.03.0020.FWP file onto it, then inserted the USB flash drive into the USB port on the front of the printer;
I plugged the printer back into the power, and it started up. Nothing appeared to happen or be any different.

Any ideas?
Anything else I should try?
Is it possible to recover a Kyocera printer from a failed firmware update?

All sorted.
A friendly person on Reddit sent me the correct firmware update files - the only file available on the Kyocera site wouldn't work via a USB stick.

Firmware update files loaded on the root of a USB stick formatted FAT32 format, inserted into the front USB slot did the tick.
Started up the printer, and it loaded the new firmware itself.
