I am trying to print a photo onto A5 paper, fed through the manual tray, on my M254dw. The photo is in landscape aspect, so it ought to be rotated 90° when it gets to the printer so that it will fit to the paper, but this never happens, no matter what settings I choose in the print dialogue. This means that the photo comes out cropped horizontally, no matter which OS I print from.
I get this when I try to print from both Photos and Affinity Photo 2 on Mac. In the print dialogue, the image is shown rotated 90°, so that it fits on the paper as it will be fed through the printer in landscape orientation (short edge first), but it doesn’t get rotated when I actually print.
The same thing happens on Android, using the (Samsung/Android?) Gallery App.
And on iPadOS there is simply no option at all to select any paper size other than A4.
However, I did once manage to print a DL envelope in the correct orientation from the Mac. I believe that this was from MS Word, IIRC. So, at least in MacOS, there exists the capacity to print to paper sizes other than the default, even if Photos and Affinity Photo 2 don’t seem to be able to use it.
How can I get this printer to print photos to A5 paper correctly?
