Magenta not printing at top of page

OKI 844 Printer

I now have no magenta printing at the top of the page. It then fades in and out to disappear again at the bottom.

I had an 231/7 error suggesting the magenta toner cartridge or magenta image drum. I've replaced the toner to no effect. Can anyone confirm whether this sounds like the image drum or something else. Maybe the drum isn't turning freely?

Any thoughts would be welcome.
