MFC-7860DW cannot scan to email

MFC-7860DW cannot scan to email in Windows 10 and Outlook being the default email software. When I create a mailto link in Microsoft Word Outlook opens when I click on the link.

When I choose the scan to email option in the Brother Utilities software nothing happens other than it does complete a scan.

Any suggestions to resolve this issue is appreciated.

Did you enter an email address to send the scan to? Looks like you are trying method III, the easiest of the methods.

If Outlook is open you'll get a notification, you'll have to open thru email.
