MP260 can't print anymore in Windows 10

How the hack is it possible, that my canon mp260 cannot print anymore since a couple of weeks under windows 10, giving the remark: windows does not support the mp260. Canon helpdesk postulates Canon never had a driver for the mp260 in windows 10. Still for several years this printer was happily printing it just left me a couple of weeks ago. The printer is alright when used with linux mint.
